Media

The Association of Ontario Midwives is happy to arrange interviews with midwives about a wide variety of topics, and we can also assist with finding midwifery clients for interviews. We have spokespeople prepared to speak on a number of matters:

• Prenatal care and questions about healthy pregnancies
• Safety in labour and birth
• Taking care of you and your baby in the immediate postpartum period
• Matters pertaining to midwives per se, such as our landmark pay equity decision at the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario

Members of the media can access basic midwifery stats. We also have an extensive photo library and are open to requests from media and others for permission for photo use.

The AOM also grants an annual media award to journalists covering maternity care issues.
